The wizard of Oz books were actually dark for kids books. In the book it says that the Tin Man uses his axe to kill the witches forty wolves and in ends up very gruesome. The scarecrow also snaps the necks of several crows.

None of the voice actors from Snow White were credited, as well as the voice actors from Pinocchio, Dumbo, and Bambi. Disney didn't want the actors to be associated with the voices of the animated characters. Harry Stockwell "Prince Charming" sued Disney, claiming they were owed money, because Disney sold the soundtrack on album version. He lost, but Disney may have settled with him. It wasn't until 1944, with the release of The Three Caballeros, that Disney started acknowledging the cast of their animated movies.

Oz was a very dark story like other fairy tales. The Tin Woodsman started out a regular man, he was handsome & the Witch of the East(the 1 crushed by the house) was jealous he gave attention to another woman. She enchanted his axe, everytime he used it, he chopped off a limb, a blacksmith kept replacing the limbs till he was all tin.

Knowing what we know about Hollywood now she probably resisted his advances and that was his way of punishing her

I knew this about the snow white lady .. many years ago i saw her on tv & she was still beautiful _ she actually lived in a lovey house that was designed like the seven dwarves cottege ~ she sang a song from the movie ( i dont recall the number ) She didnt seem bitter .. she was charming 🌼🦢🏩

...the apple wasn't a Snow White reference, it's just how the book was written. The tin man happened to be in an apple orchard when he rusted over (his job was to chop trees), and Dorothy found him there.

It’s because of the success of Snow White is what led to the making of The Wizard of Oz. At the time… it was believed that fantasy films would not be successful. With Snow White proving they can be, MGM searched for a fantasy story they can make… landing the Wizard of Oz. It’s kinda a full circle story.

And it was Buddy Ebson, the original Tin Man, who performed the Tin Man's fancy footwork in that number, too. Buddy never received credit for it because he couldn't complete the film due to his bad reaction to the silver makeup.

That’s kind of crazy to think about how the trees attacked Dorothy for eating the apples. It’s almost a direct metaphor to how Disney would attack her career and anyone who might have given her work to make sure no one else could benefit from or use her except for him. That was his apple and no one else could have it, just like the trees.

I would have loved seeing Judy Garland as a live action Snow White. She would have been perfect for the role ❤

You might actually have this wrong. Candy Candido was a voice actor known for his range. He did very low, gravely voices, and very high pitched falsetto. He voiced one of the apple trees in this scene, and it actually sounds like him singing the female voice, even more than snow white. Look up his “star night at the cocoanut grove” song and listen how he changes from low to high and you will see what I’m talking about. Regardless of who voiced it in the song, neither are credited as it was common practice to have all of the credits at the beginning of the picture. This meant most small actor/crew members are not actually credited.

She was also in It's A Wonderful Life and she always said that she wasn't mad about hardly being in other movies and that she respected Walt Disney.
