One area where the attacking side sets up for execution almost immediately is midlane on Breeze. It's not often, but if they're staging for a push on round start you'll need to dart immediately if you're going to catch the info before they peek.

usually you do want to use it at the start of the round because in dia + most people wont just immediately 5 man exec every round without rotating etc. using it at the start gives you early info and it’ll recharge

It getting destroyed early on is still info, especially if multiple people try to shoot it. As long as it’s not shot in the same place every round, or the enemy team could fake a site by shooting it

it actually depends on the situation, it's better to use ur cd ability right when the round starts, but when they are playing around your dart and rushing every round, then it's better to save it.

Starting recon has its use, depending on how the enemy plays, obv you don't want to drop a slow ass arrow at a very obvious spot every single time

In the first place, if you gonna be saving it, sentinel is important for holding the initial information gathering

Early info has its advantages, you can lock down info on at least player location regardless of it being shot off without scanning, esp so when they tend to play grouped up, you can gather info how many are playing at per angle and roughly gauge where they are gonna go and how long to rotate

Besides, by the time you be retaking site anyway, you already have recharged your 2nd scan, and your team should've retreated back for a full retake if it was not possible to nab some kills or trades

There are like two types of sovas in game. One is lineup larrys who aims to have lineups for maximum site info and then there’s sova like me who uses dart and utils to get info just before pushing in or info just before or during a push comes in

You most definitely should throw your recon dart out at the beginning as much as you can. Choosing where is what you have to be wary of. You can instantly clear out a good section of the map with a good dart and you’ll have another one to assist with holding the site they’re planning on executing while taking map control forcing them into that one site you’re already prepped for. Abuse the cooldown as much as possible and time your darts.
