If Thunder Didn't Struck...

Playing Thunderstruck by ACDC but in a major key. Using all legato, no picking, so with my other hand i'm muting all the strings except the B string to make sure no other notes ring out.

Judging by the comments, most people didn't get what I tried to do. I'm not playing thunderstruck as its supposed to played... Instead of a minor key, I'm playing it in a major key. Which gives it a 'happier vibe'. That's what why it's called 'If Thunder Hadn't Struck'... no thunder, no rain, so it's sunny- which the major key feeling instead of minor.... I know the original is not tapped, I know the original is not legato/pull offs, I'm not trying to play the original here. Just thought it sounded cool so I put it up.
But this is the reason i hate uploading covers. If i'm going to cover a guitar solo or guitar song, I'm not going to play it as is. ever. I hate that, I find it boring and uninspiring. You want to hear an exact replica of it, just go listen to the original version. I like to put my own touch on things. thats just me, and there's nothing wrong with playing it as it's written, I just prefer to play it my own way thats more fun to me. For some people that means 'ruining' the song, or doing too much.

That's what I did when I covered the TopGun theme song. I played it my way, with way too many phrasing tricks and licks and added things. It was fun to play, and fun to record. Some people loved it, some people hated it and said 'stick to the original way'.

I did the same thing in my Queen Extravagenza audition video back in the day, when I auditioned for the official Queen cover band (video somewhere on YouTube). All the audition songs were played My way, with my own spin on how it should be. Some people loved it, some people hated it. I ended up making it all the way to final round of auditions when I was just a kid, out of hundreds or thousands of auditions. I didn't get the gig, lol but you get my point.
