Currently replaying Syndicate and in all honesty I don't mind the parkour design or the grappling hook addition (Tbh it makes me feel like Victorian Batman). Something to remember (that I realized when replaying) is that Assassin's are trained in whatever environment they're in. Connor knows how to jump from tree to tree because he grew up and was trained in the woods. Ezio, for all his flair and drama, knows best how to blend in with crowds and run on walls and roofs with guards constantly monitoring the ground, so he had to be careful and watchful. Evie and Jacob, however, were trained in a small city and sent to London, with all buildings and no guards (occasional Blighter or cop, though). They know how to climb buildings because that's that they were taught to do. Assassin's are born, raised, and trained in different environments, so it makes sense to me that their parkour is more straightforward and a lot less fancy or showy than other assassin's.

Syndicate’s parkour. While it’s more difficult and restrictive. I still believe that there’s a lot to get out of it. Like hell if the rope launcher wasn’t in this game. I think more people would actually put the time and effort to learn this system more and figure out how to work around it’s flaws.

I can't wait for an AC where nearly every possible move has a smooth transition animation with one another. It would be a lot of work but it would look amazing

Ac unity and ac syndicate are just different they actually feel like the real assasin creed parkour

What was good about revelations parkour is the hook blade is used to enhance the existing parkour mechanics rather then redesign them. The problem with syndicate is you literally don’t need the parkour once you have the grapple gun, also the world is more designed for the grapple gun with large roads dividing buildings for you to grapple to making parkour very limiting

Nice vid! Though I'm disappointed that Syndicate didn't really innovate with the parkour, the grappling hook is an understandable addition but it kinda just makes the player lazy. Maybe it could be a limited tool, like the grappling hook needs to cool off after a certain amount of uses. In addition to that, adding more ways to move horizontal, adding more ropes, more swan dive beams and making breakfall consistent

Syndicate is still my absolute favorite game. I go back every so often to play it and honestly it still just feels so fun, still stands strong now as a game

I dont get the hate for syndicates parkour system. I think they made it work for the big streets of London. It certainly is alot better than the newest RPG trilogy

Traversal in this game could've been god tier. what they should've done is made it so the grappling hook can only zipline so it's useful for clearing large gaps but you still need to use parkour to get high up to begin with. On top of that they should've made unsafe jumps possible and made it so that you could use the grappling hook in mid air. Imagine accidentally jumping off one of those sky scrapers and then having to catch yourself with the grappling hook before you hit the ground.

The controlled descent in syndicate is cool
You shoul press free run down button just when you are about to reach a building it will either land on the building or hang at the edge then you can descent down which looks very cool
I am talking about that zip line thing

Ac unity parkour system is the best in the series for its complexity. However it’s animations and frequently inhuman jump distances and heights make no sense. Breaks any kind of immersion all the time

Great video bro. Here in Brazil we never had stealth or no commentary gaming videos, so I would be so glad if you make some more AC Syndicate videos but with Jacob on stealth gameplay and nice parkour improvements.
