Largest Church in the World - (St. Peter’s Basilica,Vatican City)

This Roman Catholic Church is the seat of Papal power and is located in Vatican City, an enclave in Italy.

Named after the venerated saint whose tomb lies within, the spectacular Renaissance style basilica proudly exhibits a colossal facade and dome, with the colonnade-lined St. Peter’s Square leading up to it.

This church was designed at the height of the Renaissance by the famous artist Michelangelo and has the tallest dome in the world measuring more than 136 meters.

This is the largest church in the world with an internal area of 15160 square meters that stretches over 186 meters in length.

Covered in marble, its floors stretch endlessly away before you, with breathtaking statues, centuries-old artworks, and glittering treasures all on display.

If you’re not afraid of heights or confined spaces, climb up the 320 stairs to the top of the dome and enjoy dazzling views over the city as your reward.

Been there many times ☺️ also saw the Pope on the balcony when he's in Rome. The Vatican museum is so amazing, you have to buy tickets to the museum but the church is open to anyone. Since Pope Francis time, the lines to enter the Vatican are always very long even in the rain ☔

St. Peter’s basilica is a sight to behold. I’m not religious but was astounded at how big in size the church is. It is opulently decorated with humongous marble statues. The Vatican museum is amazing and breathtaking as well. This place is a must see at least once in your life.

As a Catholic, this is in my bucket list. I would also like to go to Jerusalem for Lent and Easter and Bethlehem for Christmas.
