I'm 42 and just got home from the dealership. Picked up a 2025 250f and it will be my first dirt bike. I wanted one since I was a kid and never got one. Lately I've been feeling like If i don't do this now It will be one of the things I regret not doing when I am too old to get out anymore.

I just started riding dirtbikes for the first time and the throttle on that bike is TERRIFYING. The turn on the throttle sends me flying.

Holy son of a dammit I want this bikes low end mountain goat grunt, with the shocks and quickness of the 250rx! It was so easy to decide when they made the 250x! I can’t decide man. I want a bike that will tractor up an incline with little to no throttle and never stall, but I want to get rowdy and maybe learn to jump. I can’t test drive anywhere they won’t let u. I think that sucks because you know the bike u might want but if u buy it and it isn’t what u wanted, ur screwed. Maybe the 450x? SMFH.

Hopefully somebody will see this and reply to me. I have been thinking in between crf300l and this Crf250f. The scenario is the following: 15 years road riding at least 5 days a week (I have to 2 bikes and 1 car, I mostly commute with 1 bike while recreationally road riding on weekends with the other one). I recently started trial/soft Enduro riding with friends. I value more reliability and simple engines with low maintenance, I a actually kind of dislike high tech features that are expensive and unnecessary most of the times, also lightweight is an important factor. You may think Crf250f is the answer but my concerns are comfort and power. I worry it will be underpowered and crf300l is definelty the winner in the comfort category. P.D. Both are relatively cheap bike so they do not offer test drive where I live (I know, weird)

The exhausts that four strokes are forced to put on are insane huge and stupid. Democrats and the us gov regulations on emissions have made it harder to build better bikes and cars. It’s sad what the feds continue to do to business.
