Typecast Campfire Sessions Ep. 1 - For Your Sake

TYPECAST CAMPFIRE SESSIONS

On April 16, 2016, Tower of Doom, in cooperation with Green Turismo, sent a team up to Sagada, Mountain Province to shoot and record the Typecast Campfire Sessions. For this episode, the band performed an acoustic rendition of their song "For Your Sake" from their "Word Sits Heavy" album. Ngayon ko lang to narinig sa Typecast pero naiyak ako sa lyrics. Thank you for this. Di nyo alam may malalim akong natutunan sa buhay. I was in an inner battle in my soul, but I realized something that I need now to cut the ties. It's over now...

guitars/bass: they were plugged and hooked to something (maybe to an interface or a direct box before going to the pa or split it up, which will make it much easier for tweaking the dry signal[ dry signal from DI box] of the instruments and of course for mixing and mastering it would much easier as well.)
vocals: tricky part here, but they have lapels as you as you can see on Steve's shirts and also with pakoy's shirt. they also have mics on there cameras and that could be one factor too.
strings (cello): the cello was also plugged. that's pretty self explanatory.
drums: well, as you can see they have overhead mic for it and other mics for the bass drum and the snare.
ambient noise: the place is pretty quiet since it is in sagada, but if you will notice during those silent parts there are still noises of crickets.

note: during the eary 40's-50's, most of the well known records were done during a live performances. Hence, this live session of typecast is not impossible to be this good. Considering the technologies available for recording nowadays it pretty much beyond possible. TOD and Typecast pulled it off and did a great job for this Session. Keep it up guys. :)
