Indy fans react after Caitlin Clark declares for 2024 WNBA Draft

Clark is the presumptive first overall pick, the rights of which are held by the Indiana Fever. In a social media post made on Feb. 29, Clark announced that while she has unfinished business with the No. 6 Iowa Hawkeyes, she has decided to set her sights on the future and declare for the 2024 WNBA Draft.

I really hope it works out for her. Sure, I'd love it if she stayed in school one more year, but I think she has set the goals she had for herself, there are still a couple of records to be broken, and I don't think she cares too much about it all. She will be very successful in the WNBA but don't be surprised if she is not the consistently dominating force, day in and day out. The WNBA has only 12 teams, as compared to the NBA's 30 teams. To make a WNBA roster, you need to be the superstar on your college team. Caitlyn will not be able to feast on teams like Minnesota Gophers where she could do whatever she wanted. She will be facing the best women's basketball players ever night.

As an Iowa grad and Hawkeye/Clark fan, very sad to see her leave. I might actually watch a couple of Indiana WNBA games and then like most basketball fans, my interest level will dwindle away to general apathy.

The biggest problem will be is she will be the biggest star on whatever team she goes to and the bitter hags on the team will try to make her life hell out of jealousy and she may just make their life hell instead. Players like her are the only hope for the WNBA people actually want to watch her and Reece the of them that play there is a chance the league could make money.
