Back in 2008, I worked for a company that was responsible for storing and then shipping Nintendo products across Canada. Very regularly, we would have new games months in advance waiting until we shipped to retailers, and very regularly, boxes would be opened and resealed. As far as i know, nobody was ever caught for stealing games because it's nearly impossible to tell when a box was opened if it's been sitting there for weeks or months, even with security cameras. Honestly, I'm surprised this doesn't happen more often.

It seems like there isn't any public leak as of yet, so yall can not worry for now (Still, do preparations to block spoilers ifyw) just a person with a copy somewhere with 2 screenshots posted online, ofc that person can just dump the rom and do a full story gameplay so beware nonetheless

People who go out of their way to spoil something are the worst kinds of people. I'm not even really interested in Echos Of Wisdom (I may or may not get it) and I'm mad FOR the people who are excited about this game.

It hasn't leaked yet. However, it will leak any day. Big Nintendo releases generally leak anywhere bwtween 2 weeks and a week out, usually around 10 days out (TOTK), IIRC, Smash leaked 3 weeks out

It's likely warehouse workers handling the shipping to stores. That's how Tears of the Kingdom and a slew of other heavily leaked games ended up being leaked.

I don't know why this started spreading around, but the file has not been leaked yet. A singular person posted photoshopped screenshots on 4chan, and all the sudden a ton of articles got written about it being leaked.
