Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) is formed by the choroid plexus - a secretory tissue found in each of the brain ventricles.

It flows through the brain and spinal cord as demonstrated in this video. CSF also flows all around the brain and spinal cord within the subarachnoid space. Eventually it drains back into the blood stream and is filtered by the kidneys.

CSF is constantly being produced and is completely replaced every 6-8 hours.
