Industry and Science Minister Ed Husic has said the killing of seven aid workers in Gaza, including Australian citizen Zomi Frankcom, by the Israeli military "reflects a systematic failure" to the observance of international humanitarian law.

The Israel Defense Forces on Friday made public their findings from an investigation into the strike and found serious errors and breaches of procedures behind the attack.
After the internal inquiry, the Israeli military dismissed two officers and formally reprimanded senior commanders.

Asked whether he accepted the incident was accidental, the Labor minister said, "It would be the easiest route to use the bad apples defence here."

More than 33,000 people in Gaza have been killed since Israel declared war on Hamas in retaliation to the militants' 7 October attack.

Hamas killed at least 1,200 Israelis and took more than 200 hostages in their assault.
The Israeli government has also repeatedly accused Hamas of embedding itself in civilian infrastructure.
