This is a story about Irish King Lir his sons and daughters and a time of paganism before St Patrick brought religion to Irelands Shores.

It's better known as The children of Lir.

It's why swans are so loved and respected in Ireland.

A lovely story, thank you, Thomas. I can compare mamy aspects of this story to my own life journey & see the similarities - obviously looking beyond & behind the actual story - i have waited many years before i could tell my truth in my family - i am still waiting, but there will come a time. I am hopeful that i will be belived - if not, then iwill have to find a way to move forward as it is possible there will be no justice. I am glad the people in the story were able to live contentedly after such ordeals, & it was the princess' determination & dwvotion which won throught in the end.
