Moon, Xi exchange congratulatory messages marking 25th anniversary of S. Korea-China diplomatic ties

Today is a milestone in South Korea-China relations.
The two countries are marking a quarter-of-a-century of diplomatic ties.
And to mark the occasion,... President Moon Jae-in and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping exchanged congratulatory messages over the phone this morning.
According to Seoul's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, President Moon said the bilateral relationship had improved and matured rapidly.
He put that down to the governments' and their respective people's efforts, communication, and cooperation,... which cultivated mutual understanding and trust.
President Moon also said he hoped ties will further develop into a (quote) "substantial strategic cooperative partnership."
In response,... Chinese President Xi stressed the importance he places in strong bilateral relations.
He said he hopes to advance ties,... adding the two nations will be able to handle their differences appropriately by solidifying mutual trust.
