Thank you for sharing this. I never had a clue what that ring was used for and I noticed this year that the ring on my boat has changed it's position. It was in the wrong position for years, but someone in my charter company has put it in the right place when my new mainsail was being set up last winter.

I have to admit - I've never used the in-mast furling yet :P Yet it looks very comfortable (util everything works). I just learned something :)
