Dave Filoni and Lucas combined did create good characters and stories together.
Just give Filoni something new to do, as he is at the moment the only one I trust with star wars along with Timothy Zahn
As they have proven them self to benefit Star Wars.
Zahn is probably the only reason start wars still exist today, and his version of episode 7-9 gave star wars a direction for the next 22 years.
I am all for something fresh but Disney has left me with a bitter taste.

Disney doesn't release Star Wars movies they release feature length adverts for their branded plastic merchandise.

Disney made the wrong approach to Star Wars they are treating it like the marvel movies by releasing new movies yearly in marvels case it’s great because they have tons of characters and new stories but Star Wars for at least was always an event people have a huge passion for Star Wars because everyone watched Star Wars young and old and I think they screwed up in the new movie by throwing away plots established or hinted at by the force awakens Disney’s Star Wars is like every other franchise (MCU and DCEU are the biggest franchises at the moment) which makes Star Wars less special to me which is a shame my level of hype for episode 9 is now much lower than for say episode 7

I could be wrong, but I think I read a long time ago how George Lucas originally planned the Sequel Trilogy was that Luke's sister was not intended to be Leia, but another character called Kira, and after RETURN OF THE JEDI, Luke would go off to find her and train her in the ways of the Force, but then Lucas changed that when he had doubts of doing a Sequel Trilogy (this was at a time I think when he had both a Prequel and Sequel Trilogy in mind).

You can compare it to dragonball. The movies and dragonball gt were not from the creator. that's why they were fanfiction, filler and non canon. star wars is the sequel triologie fanfiction of jj abrams and rion johnsen. this is there view of how star wars could go on. Not from the creator one.

Whilst I'm sure George Lucas's vision for how he would've handled Episode VII, VIII and IX could've been really great it still wouldn't change the fact that Carrie Fisher died and if it were made in the exact same timeframe that this current trilogy was made then it never would've been finished nor could Leia be featured in any future trilogy as a Jedi Knight because of Carrie Fisher's death. People can be all 'what if' all they'd like but in the end she's gone and so too is this version of the Star Wars universe.

I'm fine with Leia not being a Jedi though. Being a politician and general isn't a step down at all
