How to build a substation from scratch

Take a look behind the scenes to see how we go about building a substation from scratch. Any large building project is challenging enough for project managers, but the risks at this big-build included various COVID waves, high-voltage electricity, tidal groundwater issues and lasers.

We completed this large-scale project to construct a brand-new substation in St Kilda, South Australia. The substation will help deliver a land-based test facility for the Navy's new Hunter Class frigates. It will also allow us more flexibility for managing the electricity supply to the northern suburbs as the area continues to be developed.

Are there any Geological, GeoMechanical, etc. testing of the Underground done prior to the building of a Substation on a Site to kind of ensure it is "unlikely" that an Earthquake or other GeoHazards MAY NOT occur for reasons of Safety? THANK YOU.
