I hope we have learned something in Europe now. Don’t be dependent either in Russia for energy or USA for defense. Papers signed and reasoning mean nothing. Only in the EU zone (27 countries) there are 450 million people and this does not include all European countries. We can do better if we take control of our destiny.

You have to subtract the imports by EU member states favourable to Russia and are in opposition to Ukraine, so that they can get energy deals. Also if Russia wants to send more fuel to EU industry so that it can produce wepons for Ukraine, that's their folly not the EU's.

Boycotting natural resources is stupid. Not paying up for Ukraine is also stupid. Russia have everything except technology and manpower. We should have stayed rich, and flooded Ukraine with the shiny stuff. Luckily we are getting smarter. Make Russia pay for Ukrainian Eurofighters and Rafale. We ain't that smart.

Create EU2. Set up an entirely new legal structure where everything (administration, programs, etc.) is identical to now...EXCEPT that majority rule applies. Hungary then becomes irrelevant. There would be no legal requirement to join (Hungary could block any such motion)...but all the current EU countries WOULD join. The new legal structure would take complete precedence over the existing structure. One BIG added benefit...is that now that Trump has also sht all over Britain (and Brexit was a disaster and is now wildly unpopular in Britain)...Britain will likely see the new arrangment as a perfect opportunity to rejoin the EU.
