Disney Pixar villains are people: flawed, broken, misunderstood people. Sometimes they are genuinely malicious but more often than not they’re goals are understandable. Not necessarily sympathetic but understandable. They are relatable and real, but also small and reconcilable.

Dreamworks villians on the other hands are monsters: those who have shed their humanity/mortality, or who never had it to begin with. And this can be either metaphorical or literal. They are legends, larger than life

Disney and Pixar movies (especially newer ones) I can understand watching them as a kid.
Meanwhile with Dreamworks, kid, adult, old ass man in his 90s, I'm still watching that shit. The way they write their stories for EVERYONE to enjoy, not just a specific age group.
