Coincidentally, I've noticed as adult, people have adult fear that keep them up at night. Debt, politics, and health problems are enough to give anyone nightmares. I use your chilling readings to push out real life boggie men, and replace them the unreal. I find a host of unreal monsters make comfortable company to sleep with. Thanks.

Superb - as always. Hoffman is often overlooked, and I recall the Sandman, plucking out eyes for his moon-nested offspring, being a chilling vision! And his "The Forest Warden" was another deeply disturbing tale!!! Thank you so much for your always outstanding narrations!

Nice touch near the end with the voices through the door. It surprised and pleased me.

This was a great help! One of the only other readings of this work and much much better than anything else available for free. Much appreciated!

Thank you for breathing life into this gem! Didn't know it but it's up there with my favourites. Love the balance between oh so normal and totally out there. Very intriguing facets.

I keep coming back to this story, and I'm not sure why. It fascinates me, and even though I know the story, I so much enjoy the way it's told (and narrated). I have no idea if other E.T.A Hoffman stuff would float my dirigible, but I feel compelled to seek more out.

Thank you for this wonderful reading. Well done!! Just think, this tale of Hoffmann’s is one of the earliest, if not the earliest of its kind.
It has inspired countless works of art and artists, unique in their own right, across genres, across time and space all over the world.

Just wonderful! I would LOVE to hear you read Lazurus by Leonid Andreyev as one of your foreign stories. It is one of the most scary and disturbing stories I've ever read, and hearing you read it would give me utter joy/dread!

Hoffman's Nutcracker and Mouse King, the basis for Tchaikovsky's ballet, is much darker and more unusual from Tchaikovsky's version.

That’s funny I was just thinking of the story and it came up in my feed the next day. What a masterpiece.

Brilliant narration. Goes well with the music of B. Lustmord.
