Tailless whip scorpions are easily the best definition of a "creepy but cute and harmless" pet. And tbh eventually you kinda get over the way they look and start to find it rather comedic.

I have a Damon variegatus and its my favorite arachnid in my collection; big, awesome looking, always visible due to being arboreal and not-shy, great for handling (or at least mine doesn't teleport much) and pounds orthopterans like a boa. I wish TWSs were more common, I'd love to have as many as I do tarantulas and scorpions.

No roaches? Perhaps your wife needs a little bit of convincing! There's some very gorgeous species out there. Though it seems to be very inconsistent whether or not Roach Crossing has any in stock. Though arachnids would be one of the last things I'd expect Roach Crossing to carry.
