at the Royal Albert Hall, the last of the three-night stint

Shot with a Panasonic TZ-101 in 4k from row 2, crop and panned, stabilized, lighting adjusted by keyframe. Some color and gamma adjustment on the additional footage. This was pretty challenging as the low light caused hunting and I had to be creative to fill in gaps. Thanks a ton to Andrew Cowan for providing me with additional footage from the solo onwards. I also used short bits of a YouTube upload by Ana Rivier here and there.

The audio was recorded with a Zoom H1 + Soundman OKM II mics, 96kHz 24-bit (here 512kbps), video uploaded as 21mbps, probably heavily compressed here.

This piece couldn’t be more appropriate for a song that features stunning harmonization, the gentle power of Joe’s voice and breathtaking harmonies. To touch something in the human psyche that makes them hold their breath! But you can’t overlook the mesmerizing coda of the song, sung by a beautiful, spiritual white woman with a black soul! What a wonderful combination!
I wonder how many people appreciate the DIFFICULTY LEVEL of this piece !

The sound in the Royal Albert Hall brings such new dimension to this beautifully played and sung song. Absolutely breath taking with its rather haunting sound of loss. This song looks like it came right out of Joe's soul as we watch. May we all do our best to avoid self inflicted wounds.

Saw him in Brussels last month. This song hits very close to home for me and so I was sweating and shivering while they played it. A stunning performance, especially with the vocals at the end.
