My wife picked this up for me during one of her recent ventures. Thanks

I have a similar power supply from Eico. The voltage adjust isn’t a potentiometer but actually is a mechanical wiper on the low voltage side of the transformer. Probably has Selenium rectifiers in it. They can be changed to Silicon if you like. That will increase the output voltage and give you better regulation too, because Silicon rectifiers have a lower internal resistance. Buy a 100 PIV, 35 amp bridge rectifier and add some heat sink. You probably will need to put in capacitors rated at a higher voltage if you do. But you probably ought to do that anyway. The circuit is a common type of a center-tapped secondary that uses the full secondary voltage going through a four diode bridge in the high voltage setting. In the low voltage, it uses the center-tap and two of the four diodes to achieve full wave rectification. Then it uses a PI filter, where the output from the rectifiers go to a capacitor, then through a filter choke that looks like a transformer with two leads, and then to another capacitor to filter it again. It isn’t a regulated supply, so the voltage will drop a fair amount if you draw many amps from it. I use mine to charge car and tractor batteries. Pretty good stuff in it’s day!
