90s was the best. We had so many great athletes, sportcenter and ESPN covered the NHL, and times were just better.

Alarm clock goes off, head downstairs to catch as much of sportscenter as you can before you grab a bowl of cereal and get to your bus stop. Life was so much simpler in those days.

Exact date should be June 20, 2000. The day beforehand, Red Sox pitcher Brian Rose ( 0:28 ) got the loss in a 22-1 Yankees victory at Fenway (ouch), and Jeremy Mayfield used Earnhardt's patented move against him to pass him on the last lap at Pocono ( 0:36 ).

This intro adopted around May 1999 and lasted until Summer 2000 period when ESPN introduced new SportsCenter logo and all-intros, the previous one is very familiar as also to some ESPN programs for this graphics period used from April 1994 until May 1999, and later adopted an custom blue version by Interactive in the following year. This theme music from April 1994 have became iconic, despite at the time recently adopted Tabloid format in this cable channel, that pioneered since 1988 from WSVN Channel 7 Miami, FL.

I miss the old sports center, the theme music, two dudes cracking jokes at a desk, highlights from every game. Now it stinks.
