The Nike MAG first debuted on the silver screen in the 1989 film Back To The Future II when Marty McFly, played by Michael J. Fox, stepped out of a DeLoreon and had an on screen sneaker moment sliding into and letting the power laces do the work to secure the Nike MAGs to his feet.

For years there had been online petitions and forums dedicated to getting Nike's attention to bring out the Nike Air MAG. On September 8, 2011 Nike unveiled the Nike MAG 2011 to select media and influencers. Only 1500 pairs were produced and auctioned on eBay to benefit the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson's research.

We're here with the latest edition of Throwback Thursday, this week we went into the Nice Kicks vault to take a look at the Nike Air MAG.

nike had better do the power laces version release right. they better do it with a wide release so every back to the future fan who wants a pair or two (or even ten) can own them, and not make it exclusively for the rich and famous.

I've never been big on collecting shoes the way some people collect jordans or any other type of show...but I'd these just for the hell of it..that's if they come out with the power laces version.

It's an incredible shoe and it's amazing what Nike did with the money raised. I hope they do the same with the 2015 release.

Please make these a affordable price around 300 and make sure you make alot of them.

This needs to be its own line with an array of different customs and models. The proceeds from the sneaker head community can make a huge difference. Make them $300 and every superficial person and hipster will buy them, unwittingly donating to a cause they originally wouldn't care for.

Nerd fact is: The 2015 Time line in Back to the Future isnt ours, because Marty altered the original time line (read ours) when he interfeared with his parents. Thats why on the end of the first movie things are changed. So the 2015 time line in the movie never excisted so this shoes and all the other techie stuff. Just saying, because all people are now bitching about BTTF and 2015.

This shoe feels like a cop to me because growing up it was my dream to own a pair and now that they're coming out with the powerlaces it just makes it that much better. #fingerscrossed
