Why is TikTok getting banned around the world?

Government workers around the globe are no longer allowed to use TikTok on any devices associated with their jobs - and one MP in the UK told a Sky News presenter to delete the app. What are the issues around TikTok and why are governments getting involved? Helen-Ann Smith, Asia correspondent, explains.

TikTok's terms and conditions clearly say that it can collect info from the phone youre using... or any other computer or phone on the same network... which makes this move irrelivant unless Gov workers are also going to be banned from using their work phone at home or in any place that they ( or other people ) also use the internet to access TikTok.

YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and Snapchat all have access to your information. Politicians must be lobbying again. Who is upset if they’re not making enough money. TikTok taking everything. It’s the hype 🤷🏽‍♀️
