I've been a John Edmond fan for many years now - great to see his generosity in doing this arrangement! I was in G Troop (BRT), 124th Cav from September 2001 to June 2002, when I ended up getting promoted out and going on the 3/144th Infantry's mission to Umatilla Chemical Depot, Oregon. Ended up missing G Troop's inaugural Spur Ride as a result. IST'ed to the Oregon ARNG after that and earned a set of Gold Spurs with F Troop, 82nd Cavalry (29th BCT) during my second tour in Iraq. Finally retired in 2011, living in Texas once again.

My father (Dr. HC Phelps) was in the 124th as a Veterinarian for the mules in Burma as they became the 475th MARS task force. He was in the 2nd Battalion through the taking of the Burma road after the fight at Tohkwa. He returned safe. I have his diary and a Kukri knife that was Lt.Col John Latin's that he brought back.
