Epiphone vs Gibson: What I've Learned So Far! - #shorts

In this YouTube Short, I wanted to share my experience so far comparing the Gibson Les Paul 50s Standard Gold Top versus the Epiphone Les Paul 50s Standard. The Epiphone has far exceeded my expectations and I will be releasing a full comparison video soon. I had a lot of questions about how these guitars compared so here is what I have learned so far.

The Epiphone's should be good. They are not a cheap budget guitar but a cheaper alternative to Gibson. I stated on another post that I would be happy jumping on stage with a Epiphone LP straight out of the box.

I've got a few epiphones. Les paul Florentine, Explorer and two Masterbilt acoustics. Decided I'd pay a little extra and get the Gibson LP special over the epi model this time. Pretty much the worse fret job I've ever seen on a guitar and I have 11 guitars, Indonesian, Japanese Fujigen, Korean. Worse frets than my chinese made explorer. Easy and cheap enough to fix, but damn. You're just paying for labour cost, smoko breaks and overtime, not the cost of quality. I won't be selling my Epiphone Les Paul anytime soon that's for sure. The people out there that talk nonsense about Epiphones need to get a grip on reality, CNC makes consistent high quality product, no matter the country.

I have the Epiphone gold top, in left handed. It is a good guitar for the money and did play well out of the box as Shane has said.

Love the Chris Cain poster mate! He’s absolutely amazing! Been lucky enough to get to play with him a few times.. also, for my money, I will go epiphone If I had more money, I would buy a Heritage over a Gibson.

I own 3 Gibsons and 3 Epiphones. All for different reasons. In the end just buy what makes you happy and gets you inspired to play. The name on the headstock really doesn't matter if you find something that just works for you.

I've also noticed the quality of the fretwork on Epiphones is really good. The acoustics are very nice too.

I got two Epiphones, an SG 400 and the Les Paul Special II. The SG is amazing i dont know why you would want to pay 3x as much for a Gibson.

Been playing Epiphone guitars for a number of years. Keeping my Gibson guitars at home. Really love both makes. I replaced the pickups in the Epiphone guitars with Pearly Gates by Seymour Duncan. Also had a Hipshot drop D install. Now the guitars give me everything I ask for from rock, blues country to metal. Keep rocking my friends. Stay safe and may God bless 🙏✝️
