Sandy City police ramping up enforcement in known speeding area

SANDY, Utah (KUTV) — Sandy City Police are ramping up patrols along a stretch of 1300 East between 7400 and 11400 that is known for speeders and drag racers.

“It can be annoying,” said Manuel Romero, who lives along 1300 East.

“Especially like 3 o’clock in the morning with the windows open it gets even worse and they can wake you from a real nice sleep,” he added.

Sgt. Greg Moffitt with Sandy City Police said they have increased patrols as of late, issuing more than a dozen citations and warnings last Sunday.
