Scientists Have Successfully Grown Plants in Moon Soil

Shall we ever find a new home in space, and can the Moon be that home? If we resettle, we'd need to find a way to grow crops in its soil. During the first trips to the Moon in the Apollo program, astronauts brought back some rocks and soil to study and tried to grow a seed in it. To their surprise, it only took 2 days to see little green leaves and 6 days for them to be properly visible. Even though the lunar plants didn't continue growing after day 6, they survived and were harvested 20 days later.

But it was from Earth wasn't it? you said that they mixed the lunar soil with volcanic ash the volcanic ash is the only reason anyting grew if that's the case if they use just lunar soil with no other additives then I would be interested to see if anything actually grew

Plants need water to sprout en grow. but nutrients to survive. Nothing new here. They will grow on almost anything.
