Soulé Speedy Twin steam engine overview

This is a quick overview of the Soulé steam engine I just purchased. It is a feed engine for sawmills, though I've also heard that it was used for steam shovels for operating the bucket or arm. It's a 16 horsepower motor. I've got it running on compressed air, barely, but will run it on live steam as soon as my boiler is finished.

Nice steam engine. I was in the Soule Factory today at the Soule Live Steam Festival. Have you ever been there?

They had several speedy twin engines.

What do you use for a boiler?

Will do. They're rare. I keep my eye on eBay. There is a Soulé meet-up in Mississippi - it was just a few days ago, actually. Do a Google search on soulelivesteam for the website. You might find someone there.

Haven't been to the factory, no. I don't think it will be anytime soon, since I have my own large share of steam festivals here on the West Coast, but maybe after I retire... :-)
