Wow, I just realized that *the filter was never inside the water bottle. You have to put the filter inside the water bottle when you first buy the water bottle.*
So you're telling me that in the past 4 months, I drank from my water bottle thinking that the water was filtered the entire time? 😂
I'm stupid. Oh well, at least I didn't throw the filter away.

I just ordered mine from Amazon and I tested it out. (The water at my job has no filter which is why I brought it.) The water taste so much better. Who would've brita made water bottles that filter out the water!!! Anyone who has a job that has a water faucet and no filter this is definitely recommended because throughout a person's 8-hour shift sometimes you need something to drink.

I've been reading the comments and thought I could help
1. The filter is a bit hidden in the packaging, be sure not to toss it.
2. Rather than drizzling some water over the filter, rinse with quite a bit of pressure on all sides of the filter AND inside (this is actually on the instructions that come in the bottle).
3. If you've not rinsed the filter properly and stained the mouthpiece maybe use a pipe cleaner and baking soda 🤷🏽‍♀️
I hope this helped!

Just wanted to say the filter is sort of hidden in the packaging, make sure you don’t throw it out.

I've been using my bottle wrong this entire time. I thought you were supposed to run water into the straw!!!! It always took forever to fill up and I just thought that was how it had to be. 😅😂😂😂😂

I accidentally didn’t rinse it beforehand and got a lot of black water in my mouth

My biggest complaint was the instructions inside the bottle tore apart as I tried to get it out. The paper was hugging the sides of the bottle which made it difficult to get out of the small opening. I would recommend the manufacturers simply fold them so you can slide it out.

How do these filters even work, though? There's literally a hole straight through the filter which seems like unfiltered water could travel right through without crossing through any carbon

I’m curious how obviously when you pour water in your Britta pitcher it strains through the filter to the bottom part and then you poured in a cup and drink it. I am a little confused when using the Britta water bottle does it do the same thing but as you drink it? I’m always curious when I pour water directly into the bottle if it’s OK to drink it right away or do you have to wait like you would with the pitcher

Why doesn’t the water come out when I put the filter in? 😭

How does the carbon filter, filter water? There is a hole straight through the carbon filter, it seems rather than water passing through the filter, water is passing through the hole like a straw.
