Area (intersection) = 2A+4B, where A = area(Green Δ) and B = area (Thin green segment)
A = (½).b.h = (½).{(1/2)√3} = (1/4)√3. B = Area(sector) - Area(Green Δ) = (π /6) - (1/4)√3.
Area (intersection) = 2A+4B= 2.(1/4)√3 + {(π /6) - √3} = {(4π /6) - (1/2)√3} = {4π - 3√3}/6.

It would be helpful if you explained what you were aiming to calculate at each stage before just launching in on the calculation, eg, "we need to calculate the base length of the diamond shape so that we can calculate the area of the do that, we....xyz"
