⚠️Warning from AC specialist ⚠️

I am an HVAC Product manager with 8 year experience in Daikin.Dont use any other filters otherthan the manufacturer provide because of the two conditions.
1) when AC runs in fan mode with this filter there will be excess load in motor and fan blades.ur room AC (RAC)/split AC have fans designed with low cfm (air flow ) and low static pressure.To pull air through a hepa u need more static.Without this motor will heat up and also there will be heavy load on fan blades.this will leads to fan blade and motor damage.also a non sealed HEPA doesnet provide much filtration.

2) When you use a better filter it has smaller passages for the air to pass, Due to this there will be pressure drop.our room AC (RAC)/split AC have fans designed with low cfm (air flow ) and low static pressure.so these fans will not be able to suck air through these filters which will lead to less air passed through ur evaporator coil.
Due to this heat transfer will not be adequate and the liquid refrigerant will remain as liquid and these will go to compressor, where as this should not happen because compressor can only compress gas not liquid.This is called "liquid flood back", this will lead to failure of compressor in very short period of time.

Step 1 :- buy an air conditioner first.

Split ACs have very specific instruction that nothing should block the air suction. And this being placed right on the air suction means the amount of continuous air that AC needs will drastically slow down, as this filter will also have its own limitation. This will put a lot extra load on the fan motor.

This is a bad idea because the HEPA filter is not sealed.
Un-sealed filters are of no use.

It Reduces the airflow of the air conditioner can lead to liquid backflow to the compressor, potentially causing mechanical damage. Like all indoor air purifiers, it merely lowers particulate matter levels without providing ventilation.

Running AC on fan mode can cause wear and tear to the fan mechanism. This product is good but make sure you use it in moderation if you want your AC to last!

Good that you mentioned that the air purifier has no filter and it was used to test out the purification done by the jugad AC filter. Good one and cheap way to get whole room air purification.

Most AC's don't have intake on top of it. I think this will increase the load on the motors due to more suction pressure and damage AC

Putting an air filter on top of another air filter is one of the dumbest things one could do, please if you are gonna do this at least remove the built in filter… coming from an hvac technician! Most problems are generated by filters, probably like 80% of the problems
