The Game of Saki and Akagi: Mondo Women's Mahjong Championship Vol.2
Показать описание
MONDO TV brings you the first ever English-language broadcast of a Japanese professional mahjong television program. Four of the best players in Japan battle it out to see who will become the 10th Mondo Women’s Champion. If you’re a fan of mahjong competitions, have heard of the game through popular comics like Saki or Akagi, or have played online, this is your chance to see how top pros compete in a real-life setting.
The competitors are:
Yumi Uotani (魚谷)
Rumi Nikaido (瑠美)
Saki Kurosawa (黒沢)
Izumi Suzusaki (涼崎)
Those new to Japanese “Riichi” Mahjong can find a copy of the rules here:
English colorcaster commentary is by Ryan Morris and Benjamin Boas.
-Ryan Morris
First American to make contact with the Japanese pro mahjong scene, and boy, did it cost him. After gaining their trust through consecutive early losses, he made it all back through mahjong journalism, including a long-running column in Kindai Mahjong. Biggest feat: two-time consecutive champion of the yearly GPC All-star League founded by Masayuki Katayama.
-Benjamin Boas
Benjamin Boas has been involved in international riichi mahjong championships for over a decade both as a player and a judge. He is a researcher at Keio University in Japan.
