1:56 little did they know, they built the best van ever. This is one of the most comfortable vehicles out there. The only reason they went for a Front drive Sienna is crash tests. Previa is superior to Sienna in fuel economy, reliability, comfort and interior space. But it failed crash tests in mid 90s, IIHS test, one of the worst performers. But I will tell you this, this thing is a tank when it comes to durability. On mine, everything on the interior is in near mint condition and I have abused the shit out of it with building materials. 4x8 plywood fits on the inside flat on the floor, I have brought a bundle more than once. They had to make this thing at a loss. Mine is now 25 years old and the interior looks the same as it did when it was new. Dash has no cracks or blemishes, scratches. I don't know what they made it out of, but it was very high quality material.

The Previa dash looks amazing, even by today's standards.

I'd love to have all 3. Toyota was at the top of their game in the 90's

The interior of the Previa looks way ahead of its time IMO.

MR2 was timeless styling. They could reissue it today and sell for $40K+ if they kept the looks the same but added technology like direct injection, DIS ignition, etc to get much more power out of a 4 cyl. It was such a value in 1991 when about $16-17K was the price on the base model and the turbo with every single option maxed out around $23-24K.

Toyota even put an supercharger and intercooler on the Previa minivan in the mid 90s; how cool is that. Those were the glory days of Toyota. Most cars now are about stupidity like social media apps, texting, etc and very few cars are about driving as the number one thing the car is built for.

Not a big fan of minivans in general, but that Previa was nice. Especially the interior.

Holy cow. A mid-engine minivan! Toyota engineering really rocked in the 90s

I have a 1991 Previa with a stick. The thing is a beast. Slow, but awesome.

This generation of MR2s were so beautiful. The 1991 Previa was very cool, too. The company I worked for had one, and I got to drive it from time to time. The Land Cruisers of this era were classic as well. Try to get one these days--they are money.

You still see Land Cruisers of this era going around unstoppable. Discounting the MR2 was a mistake. The Previa was always an oddball. My best friends mom had one growing up in the pale silver blue. It was nice just slow as all get out!

I'd really like to see the video for the 1997 Land Cruiser, as that was the last year it was brought over.
Thanks for the Retro Reviews!

I wish Motorweek would do new versions of these "Toyota Models Line Up" videos. Would be cool to see.
