Hey Danny, I've been going to music school for a while now, and man, when my teacher was teach me the basics, I felt like I was getting it, slowly, but surely. After watching your video on a tutorial on how to record, you really dumbed it down to where I could understand. Lol, I didn't even half to go to class today. What I would've gotten from class I got through watching your video. Thanks!!!!

Its on the top. Its right between Option and Window. Once you find "Setup" click it and go down to "Playback Engine" click it. There you will find a drop down menu with option of different input and output settings. This is the best I can do without seeing what you are seeing. If you are still having trouble try googling "setting up usb mic with Pro Tools". There should be other people out there who have a similar setup that you have that have run across the same problem you have. Good Luck :)

First check if you have the appropriate outputs selected. I know this might sound stupid, I've actually done it a few times myself, but make sure you speakers are on. If your listening through headphones, make sure they are working as well. Also, make sure that you have the track record enabled, meaning the record button on your track is on and flashing. Hope this helps :)

Perhaps you could go over some of the numerous virtual instruments? Maybe more detail on the MIDI Editor as well? Great work bud, much obliged.

It is a bit difficult to explain but here goes: try to configure the PT aggregate device to have the mic as input and the built-in as the output. I'll try to make a video on it in the future but for now, try googling it. There is a wealth of information on forums that you can take advantage of.

@IkeProductionsMusic Nice! Where did you go to school for your degree?

In this situation, go back and double check your send levels, make sure you have all the outputs set to the appropriate outputs and inputs as well and anything you could think of. Also try restarting Pro Tools and also your computer. Sometimes pro tools might get buggy. I find that the problem usually is smallest thing that I forget to do. Good luck :)

I am no sure what you are talking about; but, try going to the windows menu. there should be a list of things you can select if you accidentally closed something such as transport, big counter, etc...

I am trying to use a USB microphone in Pro Tools 12. I am wanting to record vocals. What do I need to do in order to 1.) make this mic work in PT 12, and 2.) hear myself in my headphones while recording? THANK YOU.

Also... Once I finally figure this out... I am going to have to use voice effects on my voice. (Auto tune, etc.) using the harmony engine plugin most likely. Will it be possible to hear these effects on my voice WHILE I am recording? Pretty much the reason I switched to pro tools from simple stuff like audacity and Sony.
