This is really after my own heart, Chris. I love original Esterbrook dearly.
After selling and giving away at least a dozen of the pens, I still have all the six colors of the J pens. A pair of LJs and a lone SJ. And a bunch of other choice old Esterbrook pens. Including the Safari which I’m particularly fond of.
I have sixteen of the vintage nibs of my choice. My favorite model is the Dollar pen. I never liked the lever filling system. But the original old Esties were still my ‘besties’ through my adolescence and beyond.
I have three modern ‘reborn’ Esties. Three Oversize models: Scarlet, Sunflower and Ebony (w/Scribe, Needlepoint and Journaler nibs, respectively). I sometimes even use the vintage nibs on the modern Esties.
That is a neat book that will be well worth reading for both pleasure and reference.
