I am 71 years old and I did mine in about two hours. Drilling was the toughest part as my drill bits were not as sharp as I would have liked. Directions were great and easy to follow. Big relief not having to worry about those cats being thieved by some lowlife. Looks great too. Rust in Southern California. . . no worries for me.

Thanks for the video. With all of the other places its bolted up to just curious why those extra 4 drilled holes absolutely have to be there? I lnow itll be fine but would like to not drill/put holes in the frame. Thanks for your video.

As long as there is demand for the precious metals inside the CAT the theft will continue. At some point the demand will drop & the theft will stop & I hope soon. This is becoming ridiculous.

I got it, installed it in driveway with help of wife, totally happy. Hardest parts was jacking and securing the truck safely . Holding and fastening shield up while on my back . Great vid

I just installed this plate on my Tacoma. Took me about 4hrs to get the holes drilled and the inserts installed. It was a bit of pain, but doable, however I do see the benefit of a professional install. I got a couple of bruised knuckles, and tight neck muscles😉.

Would you say these bolted security shields are better than the welded kinds?

The Talons garage version requires no drilling

The frame metal is tough to drill. I sped up that process by drilling a series of smaller holes, which allowed the 7/16 inch drill bit to bite into the metal. I put the plates together with the bottom plate upside down, and saw my error after reviewing this video. As I look at the plate, I think: "How long will it take for a cat thief with a battery powered metal cutting disc to cut off this aluminum plate?"

Important work you guys are doing there.

Do you guys paint/seal the holes you drill to prevent frame rusting? Or is that not really an issue in your part of the country?

I have an RCI skid plate installed to protect that exhaust cross-over pipe. Would there be any issues with this concerning installation?

Hey, your videos are fascinating considering I am clueless when it comes to most things automotive-related. With that being said, I have a 2016 Tacoma 4 cylinder 2 wheel drive--there is not a Cat Security shield for that configuration (only the V6), is there a reason that for that? Thanks!
