There's actually a whole community of folks that love all of those promotional inklings! They all have names, though people tend to focus more on the ones in Splatoon 3. John is the only one that's left the bounds of the tiny fandom so far, we're all super happy everyone loves him as much as we do.

John's actually not the only promotional character out there who's named- all the female and male variants of the agents are also promo kids and are named (Kaori/John for S1, Surume/Cuttlefrsh and Patricia/Steven for S2, and Veronika/Hiro/Anemone for S3), plus two sets of teammates!! If you go looking for the promo kids, you'll find a few of us who're sitting in a circle talking about them. :D
