At the time, those were the only 7" screen with a 1200X600 resolution, the official RPI's had lower res screens. I have had one for years and there have been a few issues with using it as a pure HDMI display (Output shifted to one side.)

I was given a spot welder, it works great however, it needs lots of power. I use my boat battery to power it since it has the amps needed. You do have to play with the pulse width on test strips.

VPN, set up wireguard on the router or on a device on your network, then only expose the VPN port on the router. Then, anything you want to look at on your home network, connect to it using the wireguard client to connect to the wireguard server, then you can just access it as if you were on your home network.

It's how I do it, I have wireguard-easy installed on my server, then whenever I want to look at something on my network, I connect the wireguard client on my phone or laptop to the server (generally using my phone as a hotspot or using public wifi), and then just connect to it as if I was still at home.

That way, you are only exposing 1 port to the outside world. Even if you use non-standard ports for things like your NVR, you are still exposing more than you really should be.
