Tbh I kind of regretted selling my G1 Gaming for evga classified, they just oc horribly, so hard to get it to over 1500mhz, and it's much hotter and noisier to my previous G1

unless you have a very small rig and need absolute max out of the box OC, this is more a liquid cooled and beyond GPU. try it in its intended environment, rather than just on air.

you have the cpu power cable going over the gpu? that card is so nice and the set up is so sloppy. should probably spend the 20 bucks and get some PSU sleeved extensions if you're willing to spend nearly 1k on a gpu.

Right now there is a know issue that by Vince kingpin himself commented on, that the NVIDIA 355 drivers are locking down 980 ti kpe cards from overclocking well especially when air cooling. Try this fix.

bro I'm sorry for your card not being up to what you thought. I was in the same boat I bought the 980 kingpin and I was in the same shoes and I was one day behind the upgrade time with evga and they told me tough luck goodbye so fuck EVGA I will never buy another card from them. I went with the g1 980 ti and never will I look at EVGA again.
