This must have taken great courage. It is such an intimate, raw and emotional song. You probably just can't sing it like some ditty, you have live in, and exude the emotions, without going over the top. You struck exactly the right balance. You did a beautiful job I think. It must have been draining and exhausting, as it seemed as if you were going to crack up (as listeners, we always do)from the burden....your interpretation cracked me up (a good sign)
Like Clare Torrie in Pink Floyd's 'Great Gig in the Sky' was told to think 'Grief' and did it in one/two takes. Apparently Kate did this song in one take, too, shut off in a candlelit room with just a piano. Emotion just has to get out.
