The cape is a literal symbol of office, like a judge's black robes. They'd be out of uniform, and if you want a fast way to be mopping the parking lot in a rainstorm, it's showing up on the clock out of uniform.

They put in time making the best cape physics I’ve ever seen in a game. Just wear the cape. It looks good and blows in the wind almost everywhere.

I love how the Cape is placed in the same room as the terms and conditions written on the side of the walls. But the fact they hyped this cape throughout the training most people didn't even notice the terms and conditions and went straight to the cape.

If you never equipped a cape at the start of the game you can technically play without one, just gotta remember to never put one on.

I saw fan art of different styles like ponchos and scarfs. All I thought was how much I want to be a gunslinging democratic cowboy in a poncho

I haven't had the chance to play Helldivers yet, but who DOESN'T want capes? I want full capes, butt capes, shoulder capes. Give us ALL the capes

The thing is, they only really have long, flowy capes available that go straight down the back
I would love to have half-capes, cloaks, or even ponchos so that there's more of a variety to the capes than just color
