I really love how this version of Sonic.exe makes it look like it's running on a Sega Genesis, which is why it doesn't play the songs from Klonoa, Earthbound and Silent Hill

I love the thing that the level is dark to be seen, but then you get a lightning strike that flashes the level for you for a split second, giving it extra detail to replace the static to add more effect, and instead of blood stains on the level, it's rust. Cool detail, nice work.

fun fact: X will always find you at 1:22 _specifically_ (it just doesnt show it on the clock cus i would assume it's instant)
doesn't matter whether you progress or not, that's the time when X decides he's gonna strike

The fact the music actually gets slower over time makes this more unsettling and creepy. It's giving the lingering feeling that some monster is gonna get you soon enough, especially with the darkness only being broken by lightning strikes, making you anticipate Sonic to come at you at any moments....

With good music, you create good atmosphere and this is a prime exemple of that

Btw sonic.exe is really looking for you during this level. Knuckles tries to escape but after a certain time sonic.exe will just find you, even if you dont progress he finds you
