I usually do the jump because it surely increases your stamina and endurance due to the extra intensity. Each to their own of course.

I agree 100% another important factor in the exercise is having good form the burpee already gasses u out adding the jump tires you out even quicker which can lead to bad form… No matter the exercise bad form will make any movement less effective killing the full potential and besides just do jumping jacks or jump rope

Burpee is an all round exercise! The press up gives you strength and the jump gives you fitness and stamina. If some one is losing form the jump that's because there fitness is not there yet. Just slow down slightly and build it up over time.

The original burpee never had the jump. That was added way later. Royal burpee was his name, created the burpee in 1930 he was a physiologist and he never recommended the jump part.

90% of the time i do it without the jump (6 counts & navy seals), but every now and then i would do burpees with jumping squats i found that helped me w explosiveness

If the jump is gassing you out, then its not pointless.

If you want to emphasise push ups, why not do push ups separately? Burpees with a jump are hard, but definitely worthwhile. Using burpees to improve push ups 😅

The jump is beneficial depending on what your training for. It doesnt seem to translate if you're someone who rucks for miles but works out well for an NFL player.

Sometimes I jump sometimes, I dont. I also do knuckle pushups sometimes

I say add the jump as burpees become more easy for higher difficulty. Some guys they just like to criticize.

There is burpee with push up and other with push up and jump
But with jump spend more energy

if you are gassed you lose concentration which you need for correct form which is very important for progress

Ross Enamait, a respected boxing coach, fitness enthusiast and burpees evangelist would beg to differ. His burpees jumps are a model for all of us and because he does them, he doesn’t gas out as early as most.

It depends, right. You could do a shorter intense workout with the jump or a longer without. Everything should be short IMO, marathon runners dont induce left ventricle hypertrophy because they do short exercise.

A feel some difference and only started on Saturday, probly done like 30 burpees since Saturday, I know it isn’t a lot but but still feel some difference, need too keep at it because my technique isn’t the greatest
