2017 BMW 520d M Sport - The Perfect Exec Saloon ?!

Amazing tech, great interior and a driving feel that puts a smile on your face. Could the new 5 Series be the best executive saloon on the market. I put the new 520d through it's paces and to be honest struggle to find fault !

A huge thanks to BMW UK for giving me access to this car. I've wanted to experience the new 5 Series since it came out...it certainly didn't disappoint !

Well. I have purchased a 2015 530D M Sport 50k miles full dealer history in beautiful dark metallic blue with chocolate brown leather interior.
I stepped out of an Alpina 3.0 D3 touring and the five is a massive step up. People I give lifts too do not normally comment on my car but universally they are mightily impressed. My god it has 650 miles in the tank the ride is extraordinary. Best car I have ever owned by some considerable margin. I am also lucky enough to have a 130 for B road fun, another classic car from BMW. They are boss!

I get 52mpg+ on a run in my '18 530d mSport xDrive, total all rounder and REALLY goes if you need it :) The interior is also the perfect combi of tech and traditional ergonomics ( had a 70Reg golf GTD for a bit and had to swap it)

My 530d G31 is a different beast than the F10. It will allow you to drift slightly in a bend which is nice, even over 100mph it allows a small slide and you can feel its uncrashable. What a machine. An estate that drives like a hot hatch but quicker. Oh I want to have its babys.

I had a 2016 BMW 520 msport. If the new one is better then it must be amazing. I would get 55-60mpg on a long run in mine. Thanks for the great review.

Looks great. The 8 speed ZF box is awesome as it's so versatile. Agree about keeping the Oyster leather clean though 🙈

Hi Peter, I can see you like this Car but you made a comment very early on in the video. You said your not sure of you could daily this Car is this because it’s missing the xdrive like Audi have Quattro I think it’s fair to say BMW over the years have got better and can be driven in all weathers but to do so I would have the xdrive 4 wheel drive system I think I have told you prior I’m becoming a BMW fanboy and I think you can now see why but as ever great video very informative and as ever best wishes Alan B

The 525m sport is defo a wolf in sheeps. Twin blown, we had that and an M4 on demo last year. Lovely, preferred the 525 more than the 4. Much more manageable.

I test drove one of these back in April. I was well impressed and the interior is top notch. It made getting back into my E91 320D very disappointing. It felt about as quick as my car and the only slight disappointment was the tyre roar from the run flat tyres. It sounded the same as my car. I thought it would be better insulated against road/tyre noise. Other than that I could have driven it all day but the very pretty lady from BMW would probably have thought she was being kidnapped ;)
