Nice tutorial. I can't seem to fnd out how to delete the part that left the cavity without affecting the part I want to use. If I delete the part not used, the cavity dissapears.

If you want to subtract one part and then not have that part thats been subtracted remain in the part, do it in a part file. use Add Part and then the Combine Subtract feature

He didn't delete the part, he moved it out of the way. Also, you can hide the part.
Nice tutorial. Wish you could speak but still got it to work.

Let's say the block is a piece of foam that the queen will be put into and I have an oddly shaped box that will house the foam and the queen. How do I shape the foam to fit in the box and to take the form of the queen? Please, this question has been killing me for weeks for a project of mine. I've recreated it using drawings but it is too time consuming and every time there any changes I have to redo the entire foam again and again.

If you delete the part you use to define the cavity, theres is no input to define the cavity!
You can "hide" the part utilized for the cavity, this way you wont see it in the assembly.

Is there an easy way to create a new part from the cavity, which is created? I have a problem with an imported file, which is partly shells, and I want to create a part from the cavity which I can use instead of the "shell" part.

You help me a lot! But I still have some problems: When I want to save the piece, the substraction doesn't be saved. What could it happen? Thanks

Can anyone update here on how this works in Solidworks 2024?
I don't find the menu-items mentioned here in my german version of Solidworks.

inserting this component would cause a circular reference which is not allowed,
Why does this mean? Why won't it work?
