You know times have changed when the description of a BMW is "the steering isn't as good as what you find in a Cadillac" :)

Great review! Interesting comparison as we have a tuned RSQ8. Sold my GT3RS, which was a great car, but I just wasn’t tracking much. I just went to the BMW driving school for a day and was blown away by the M3 Competition. Great value for a semi daily driver and a handful of track days/yr. It was something to experience going in a ride along with an instructor with an extensive racing history. REALLY opened my eyes to the capability of the car and motivated me to get back with a driving coach.

CS used to mean coupe sport, it is now competition sport. Greetimgs from Germany ;-) .

The amount of development money they spend on turning a building into a "sports car" is staggering. It makes no logical sense. Even on the business end there has to be a better use for that engineering budget.

Really interesting commentary, can I ask why the M3 was driven in auto, it was losing time on 60-70% of corner exits as the gearbox panics and grabs a lower gear...

The M5CS is a great car but I would be hard pressed to pass up the CT5 Blackwing for it though. The RSQ8 is the SUV I would buy as I don't track drive my SUV and care more about comfort and features. Great list of cars though

CS=Competition Sport, I believe.
Or counter strike, could be counter strike

So many questions go unwatered when BMW doesn’t bring tires. I’ll bet the M5 cs would’ve been much closer to the blackwing if it had fresh skins.

Looks like the X5M is softer than the x4m in the previous video where the driver could hit the curbs harder without losing grip.

seems like the G meter is reversed front to back

Don't forget the weight comparison of the M3 to the Cadilac

Has someone from the marketing dept. Dropped the ball by not having these sponsored by a tire company?

Nothing against the C&D drivers but I know a guy or several that could probably extract better times out of the BMWs, especially if they bring extra tires!

Need a driver I'm available and much faster 😉

BMW always manages to mess things up one way or the other.

lol I bet BMW didnt even bother sending the tires because C&D LOVE the BMW's anyway.

They have since I read the magazines and the letters that would come in after a BMW lost were hilarious as a JDM kid coming through the F&F world

This whole series is absurd and disingenuous of reality. So many driver changes throughout the field and we expect to know anything from these lap times? Motortrend has Randy do every single lap in every single car.

🤣 Cadillac engineers drooling over the BMWs, I don't blame them, everyone knows BMWs are over engineered.
