Sync24 - Comfortable Void

Показать описание
Track 1/10, from [Comfortable Void] (Ultimae inre052).
Crackling. Erratic. Chaotic.
That's how we begin our journey through the eponym album where we find Comfortable Void.
It's like an unstable and gigantic location where a light emerges, represented by a reverberated organ. How could the unseizable vacuum of space be described in a better way ?
A feeling of infinity comes from this track ; and yet, when the bass line kicks in, we do not feel lost as we should, but we almost suffocate because of the density of the sound. The void is oppressing, we are confined several hundreds of kilometers above the Earth.
This kind of paradox we discover in the first two minutes of the track sets the mood for the whole album : mixed feelings wander in our minds and ultimately merge to create something more than the sum of its parts.
This is what happens at 3:26. The oppressing bass line takes shape with the rhythmic kick, distant melodies support the organ in the background and echoing sounds. Everything resonates and goes directly to our minds, evocating a sort of necessary catharsis.
Feelings of helpnessness and melancholy are strong and yet we can't help admiring the beauty of the void above the rim of the Earth, making us strangely comfortable in what would be an unusual and worrying situation for anyone.
And one by one, from 5:54, every musical element goes away from the track, gently, just like we slowly escaped from the gravitational field of our planet. The oddest part is that we are not even afraid to get lost, the void attracts us, friendly and comfortable.
Harmony rose from chaos, beauty appeared from nothing.
