You have a vision? Work backwards and break it down into a bunch of projects. Work further backwards and create short to mid term goals or Objectives that need to be hit for the projects to come to completion. Great! But Objectives are just that... objectives. You need to create tangible tasks for those objectives to come to completion. From that you can calculate your costs & figure out what you need to do at each point to scale. I think that's a good way of tackling something large.

Edit: Why is it important to break things down to tangible & implementable tasks? Because you will inevitably need help and expertise. But you cannot communicate your vision to others in the way you see it no matter what you try to do. That takes time, but by the time they see it, you're nearly there. And most people don't care, why should they? So breaking things down to tasks allows you to value their expertise & resources, and use it to your advantage.

The work is easy. The hardest part in getting an idea executed is not hard work, everyone can put in the work, the hardest part is if can get enough venture capital money to make work. Bezos got $1M and was backed by billion dollar vc firm before he started!

Sure, I've taken plenty of my ideas behind the shed and executed them.
It is quite true about that flexibility though. Having tunnelvission will only make you end up disillusioned with your goals along the way.
